INFORMATION ON THE USE OF COOKIES

This cookie policy describes this website’s use of cookies. The data controller is the party to whom reference is made in the part of the website devoted to the relevant disclosure.

WHAT IS A COOKIE?

Cookies are small text files that websites utilized to memorize and gather information through the browser. They are used mainly to measure and improve the quality of the website through the analysis of visitors’ behaviour, to customize pages and to remember users’ preferences.
The “cookie law” (Directive 2009/136/EC) amended article 122 of the Data Protection Code (Legislative Decree 196/2003), which now requires visitors’ consent to memorize or gather any information on the computer or any other device connected to the internet. The previous regime, for its part, allowed data to be memorized and gathered without the visitor’s prior consent.
The Italian Data Protection Authority indicated the simplified procedures to inform and obtain a visitor’s consent on the use of cookies in the measure dated 8 May 2014 – doc. web no. 3118884 (published on Official Gazette no. 126 of 3 June 2014), to which this information refers to achieve greater transparency with final users.
In addition, this information is compliant with European Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and takes into account the draft ePrivacy Regulation which is undergoing approval. Leasys may change this information to abide by any new rules on cookies laid down by said Regulation and the responsibility to check it from time to time rests with the user.

Leasys’s policy on cookies

Cookies are defined “first-party” when they are installed by the website that the user is visiting while they are defined “third-parties” when they are set by a website other than that which the user is visiting. In fact, it is possible that Leasys’s website might contain elements (such as images, maps, sounds, specific links and web pages of other domains, etc.) that are embedded on servers other than those of the website visited.
The duration of installed cookies may be limited to the single navigation session or extend for a longer time, including after the user has left the site visited. Leasys prefers so-called “session cookies”, which do not memorize sensitive data, but use personal data related to the navigation to analyses and improve the way information published on the website is used. Session cookies utilized in the website do not rely on computer technologies that are potentially detrimental to the confidentiality of users’ navigation.
The applicable regulation on cookies call for the “opt-in” rule, whereby cookies can be used by the website with users who provide expressly their consent when they navigate, with the only exception of technical cookies.
To disable, remove or block cookies, use can be made of the setting of the browser or the option DoNotTrack, where available. In case disablement, full use of the website is not guaranteed.
